The WCGL has contracted with Morneau Shepell to provide a low-cost Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for our municipal members. The Employee Assistance Program is available to all member municipalities at a nominal cost. Employees and their immediate family can receive counseling to deal with a variety of personal issues.
Simply put, an EAP helps employees whose personal issues get in the way of doing their best on the job. EAP is designed to help organizations manage the health, wellbeing and productivity of their employees and family members. Employees receive help to find their way through personal concerns such as depression, stress, relationship issues, addictions, work/life balance, and financial & legal questions.
The EAP is a confidential program conducted by experienced professionals with advanced degrees in psychology, social work, rehabilitation counseling, psychiatry, medicine, nursing and law. All are licensed or certified in their fields of expertise. Twenty-four-hour assistance is available to participants, as well as unlimited telephone counseling, assessment, referrals, and crisis intervention services to help resolve personal issues which may impact the workplace.
