The Joliet Arsenal Development Authority (JADA) has partnered with Will County Governmental League (WCGL) to provide the Will County’s municipalities with a Transportation Master Plan Grant Strategy Project. Building on the Will County Community Friendly Freight Mobility Plan completes in 2017 and the Will County Intermodal Transportation Master Plan (TMP), a spinoff of the Freight Plan, the Grants Strategy will provide infrastructure owners and potential project sponsors with the tools needed to prepare competitive Federal grant applications.
The project has been created in two parts:

The Joliet Arsenal Development Authority in partnership with WCGL launched Phase II of the Transportation Master Plan Strategy Project. The Grant Preparedness and Application Process workshop was held on Tuesday, September 17th, 2024.
The purpose of the workshop was to help educate and prepare municipalities and local government agencies with the necessary tools to write grants to successfully be awarded federal funding for projects. The workshop will help prepare to be competitive including summarizing important executive orders and USDOT guidance, checklists and templates with references to appropriate Federal documents.
A final presentation was given at Will County Governmental League’s Full Member Meeting on November 14th, 2024. Ann Schneider, consultant, presented a summary of the USDOT Grant Funding Workshop.
