Electrical Aggregation

For More Information on  Electric Aggregation, please visit www.willelectricaggregation.org

Electric Aggregation is a program that allows local governments to bundle - or aggregate - residential and small commercial retail electric accounts and seek bids for a cheaper supply of power. Currently, ComEd customers receive electricity at a price set each year by the Illinois Power Agency, a governmental body that secures electricity on the wholesale market on behalf of ComEd. By bundling residential and small commercial accounts, municipalities can go out into the open market to seek a lower rate for electrical supply.

Residential and small commercial retail customers will have an opportunity to opt-out of any program before their supplier changes, any resident who does not opt-out will be included without requiring any action on their part.

DaCott Industries, Inc. has been hired by the Will County Governmental League (WCGL) to provided technical assistance to the communities in the WCGL's Electric Aggregation Program.  DaCott will be collecting and analyzing consumption and demand data, identifying specific opportunities to achieve optimal pricing, assisting in the development of the Request for Proposal(s) and analysis of responses, along with the execution of the bid process and contracting.  The DaCott Project Team includes the following DaCott professionals who all have significant experience with power supply and energy procurement in prior engagements:

  • Scott M. Childs, Managing Partner
  • Steven D. Guy, Managing Partner
  • David B. Geyer, Managing Partner
  • Elia Streltsov, Senior Strategist
  • Taylor Stickline, Market Analyst

DaCott will assist Will County Governmental League in designing and implementing the aggregation of electric supply services for residents and small commercial accounts.  This will include, development of the aggregate energy supply program, preparing the load analysis, preparing the bid format to be submitted to electric suppliers, evaluating supplier responses and assisting in negotiation of contracts with selected suppliers. For more information about DaCott, please visit their website at www.dacott.com
